What should be the maximum slope of a walkway?
To ensure optimal safety, level walkways should not exceed a 3° slope in any direction. Sloped walkways are restricted to a maximum of 20° in the direction of travel. Ideally, the slope should remain between 3° and 10° to reduce accident risks. Cleats are installed for inclines over 10°.
